My goal is a systematic, analytically fine-grained study of modern China:

• As a political science experiment: how does power flow in the system (not just the arteries, which are obvious, but the structure of the capillaries)?
• As a tapestry: who are all the people who live(d) in the republic? What did everyone read, believe, feel, and think?

Technology means this is the best of times to look into China, and politics means this is the most valuable of times.

Working on:

• A navigable repository of Chinese government documents and AI-relevant sites. Better navigation and more sourcing to come. We will improve our understanding of policymaking and people in the largest bureaucracy in the world.
• Fun app to read Chinese text out loud for a pronunciation check.
